The RevUp project at Tottenham Carnival

The RevUp Project run by North London Business (NLB) hosted a marquee in the business village at Bruce Castle Park during the carnival, providing information on its service helping small businesses and would-be entrepreneurs in the area.

The marquee also provided the opportunity to showcase one of the budding businesses in the area, Grikesh Ltd. Grikesh produce bright coloured T-shirts with attractive prints on the front and is based at the Florentia Clothing Village , a cluster of clothing manufacturers and retailers. It was a unique opportunity for people who have heard about Grikesh T-shirts to see the items and meet Sean, the young man behind the idea. Sean enjoyed much admiration and soon ran out of his business cards achieving the aim of raising Grikesh Ltd?s profile in the area.

The number of people at the carnival reached 85,000 by the end of the day and more than 1,000 people visited the NLB-RevUp marquee.

We had many enquires from small businesses all over the borough that we hope to be able to signpost to relevant support. RevUp covers only a small area as it is funded by the Bridge NDC (New Deal for Communities). The numerous enquiries at the carnival show a need and enthusiasm by small businesses and start-ups, across the wider Haringey area. We are currently working with small business mainly in N15 and part of N4 areas covering Seven Sisters, St. Ann?s and Hermitage roads.

Finally we would like to thank the organising committee for the smooth operation of the day. See you next year!
