Three hundred and seventy new homes will be built as part of two important regeneration projects in Haringey after grant funding of £36 million was awarded by The Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).
The funding totals over £36m and will provide approximately 220 homes at Hale Village and more than a hundred at Tottenham Town Hall, with some also earmarked for other developments. The schemes will provide a mix of social rented units, to be made available to clients on Haringey's housing register, intermediate rented units (at 80% of market rates) for Key Workers and units for sale on a part buy part rent basis through the New Build HomeBuy scheme.
All social rented homes will be made available to Haringey residents through the Home Connections service. The others will be available through the HomeBuy Agent, Metropolitan Home Ownership at www.housingoptions.co.uk.
Cllr John Bevan, Cabinet Member for Housing Services said:
"This is wonderful news. We desperately need more affordable housing in the borough and these developments will help us meet the needs of Haringey residents, they will also bring much needed jobs to the borough. Besides offering homes for those on the housing waiting list, there will be an opportunity for others to get a helping hand to access homes in fantastic new developments. We are working with Newlon Housing Trust who will own and manage these housing schemes which give a real boost to our borough."
