Residents in London's outer boroughs like Enfield have life that much better, according to a report commissioned by Ken Livingstone.
In his outer London report for the Mayor of London, Professor Robin Thomson found growing prosperity, a very good quality of life and high levels of neighbourhood satisfaction among residents in the 19 boroughs considered to be outer London.
It found that, "on most indicators, outer London is healthier, wealthier and greener than most urban areas in the UK".

The report also found high levels of educational attainment compared to inner-city London and other parts of the UK.
The report includes Enfield in its list of boroughs which have benefited from mayoral strategies, including record investment in police, transport and local communities.
Other findings published in the report earlier this month include the expectation of a 10 per cent rise in population for outer London over the next 20 years, and an expected 11 per cent growth in employment in the same period, up on the six per cent growth in the last 20 years.
In a statement released with the report, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: "London is on a tremendous high - edging ahead of New York as a centre of international finance, winning the 2012 Olympic Games, chairing the organisation of world cities on climate change and transforming the police and transport system through record investment."
He said the benefits of this success were being felt across the capital with areas seeing real improvements in public transport and more police on the streets.
While police figures were falling in every outer London borough, he said the increased frequency on 376 bus routes and creation of new bus routes had meant a 29 per cent increase in bus passengers.
A visiting professor at University College London, Prof Thomson's report will be part of the public examination of the proposed changes to the London Plan, to take place in June.
